Atom nearly Flooded reports on Intense winds, rains in Samar - TYPOON RUBY

A slow-moving typhoon "Ruby" on Sunday was bringing intense rains and winds within the province of Samar.

In a interview on DZMM, ABS-CBN (Philippines Media) correspondent Atom Araullo (a reporter) said that the poor weather being felt in the western the main province --particularly in the region of Calbayog-- was anticipated to strengthen since the typhoon nears.


PAGASA, in its 7 a. m. update, said that typhoon Ruby was last spotted near Catbalogan, Samar. It had slightly weakened after making landfall, but remains a dangerous tropical cyclone.

Typhoon Ruby, that has been packing 10-minute maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers hourly and 190kph gusts, was anticipated to make its second landfall over Masbate Sunday afternoon.
